Spring break 2010

Where's Mike? This is snow shoveled from our driveway. Mike is standing in our driveway. Kinda fun. The boys actually made a snow cave in the bottom of it.
Mike resting after shoveling much snow. I'm the main shoveler in our family but this particular day we had extra and Mike had time to help. It was fun to have the whole family out there together. We made the boys take turns shoveling too.

We also went hunting for "wabbits". We drove for 2 hours in some snowy conditions and rode the snow machines pulling a sled behind one. We brought hot chocolate to refresh us but the problem with that was that when Sam took off his gloves to drink his hot chocolate his gloves froze. He was pretty cold. We realized that he brought an old pair of gloves that don't fit him anymore and get saturated rather quickly. Poor kid, he did a pretty good job regardless of freezing to death. We got 5 rabbits and they were all excited saying that everyone in our family would get one fur. :)

Poor little frozen Sam. Mike's in the back ground doing his job on the rabbits. We'll be having rabbit biscuits and gravy for one of our meals. We've already had it once and it was pretty good. I believe David has found a favorite, he loved running off into the almost chest high snow to find the rabbits Mike shot. He really wanted to keep the heads. Jack was fascinated by the guts or as he insisted on calling them "intestines". Mike had the boys hold up the rabbits to help with the gutting. They had a blast, except for frozen little Sam that is.
So I've decided that this was not really spring break but winter break part two. Our plans were changed with all the weather but it was fun anyway. Now all we have to do is a science project and we're ready for school on Monday. :)
