The boys did this over Christmas break. It was a lovely break from the fighting and teasing. Here you see them in their fine party attire. I was tickled at this. They even made me change out of my pj's to participate.
They put her party right by the train where the Christmas tree once stood. The plate of food is her cake containing an apple slice, carrot slices and green onions. Jack prepared this lovely cake. They decorated her napkin too.
Queen Puffs on her throne. This is one of my food storage buckets. The boys use them for stools and we often use them for extra chairs when guests come over but obviously they thought it would make a great throne for their queen. They made a sign for her too as you can see.
I just loved this addition to the party decor. Jack said these are fireworks. Every guinea pig needs fireworks for her birthday party.
Sam holding his pig, sporting some lovely PJ pants and his little too tight green shirt that he usually wears with the shiny red athletic pants.:)
Lest we forget David. This was his birthday party attire. Looks like he matches the best. They all combed their hair and laid out a bunch of blankets for the humans to relax on. It was truly a fun party.

day 2
Oops, I forgot that with yesterday's dinner I had two pieces of whole wheat garlic bread.
Now for today.
Breakfast
plain cheerios
1% milk
water
snack
plain yogurt
a couple frozen strawberries
granola on top
lunch
whole wheat tortilla with hummus
smoked turkey and 3 kalamata olives
a few kettle chips
snack
busted I ate the last muffin I'm not sure I count this as totally unhealthy because it was a whole wheat, chocolate, banana, flax, yogurt muffin with some white chocolate chips added in. Yes it still has sugar but I guessed the calories from the sugar, butter, yogurt to be close to 70 per muffin so I'm not sure how many more is added with the whole wheat, flax and eggs but they can't be too bad for me right?
Dinner
homemade pizza I mixed the dough with half bread flour and half whole white wheat in hopes there wouldn't be complaining. My half of the pizza had red sauce, orange bell pepper a little onion, black olives and a sprinkle of breakfast bacon and of course mozzarella cheese- I ate 2 pieces and they aren't giant pieces either
water
Dessert- oops did I say I'd go a whole week? Well it was only four little peanut m&m's and I figure they count for something good as they were dark chocolate and that means they are higher in Anti-oxidants. Kinda like health food. Seriously though, the fact that I only ate four is pretty amazing.
There you have it dear readers, I have not abstained from junk for a whole week but alas it was better than my past attempts. Oh and I figure that I probably burned at least one or two of those M&M's today because I did a belly dancing work out video focusing on the buns. I visit my local library often and have recently decided to try different videos. I was amazed that part of this work out was just sitting on the floor moving one butt cheek up and down then the other, then together, then faster. My buns were a burning. If any of you have good recommendations for work out videos please let me know. Let it be known though that my coordination skills are a bit lacking. :)

day 1
Breakfast-
Scottish oatmeal with a few chopped raw almonds and some honey
water
snack-3/4 of an apple with one spoon of peanut butter, all natural of course.
mint licorice herbal tea with only one tiny teaspoon of refined sugar.
Lunch- had a special visiting teaching lunch so it was a bit more than I would normally have
3/4 croissant with chicken salad
green salad
2 pieces of cantaloupe
1 cup of raspberry punch of some sorts
snack- chopped strawberries with plain yogurt and a little granola
Dinner-
bowtie pasta Alfredo- used heavy cream but half of what I should have and real Parmesan. I added some crab chunks and spinach. It was okay but not my favorite and I probably won't make it again. It was quick and easy.
water
dessert- NOTHING!

could I ?
Could I actually say good bye to my best friends? Sugar, fat and the beautiful combination of it in Chocolate. Oh I don't know but it's looking more and more like I might have to.
I just reviewed a couple of diets my friend had great success with. She's awesome and looks fabulous and I'd like to think that I could but I'm just not sure. You see I've never been much of a dieter, just an eater. I love food and the word diet hurts my ears. Even when I seriously limited my consumption of certain foods I never referred to it as a diet, that was eons ago anyway so it really doesn't count.
Anyway as I reviewed these diets they said to also quit corn, potatoes, peas and some of them said to lay off one of my favorite fruits, bananas. Even here in AK I can get pretty yummy bananas. Oh the internal battle that plagues me!
Here's my solution, I'm only going to dip my toes, I can not jump in, not yet anyway. I've pretended to be healthy for a long time and the reality is that I'm heavier now than ever before and it's not muscle. Something must change and I'm gonna try to start with my sugar consumption. I will allow myself one day a week to eat a sweet treat. When I say a treat I mean chocolate brownies or something like that, not plain yogurt and granola that'll be my diet treat.
That's it, it's my only goal and it feels almost impossible. The rest of my food will remain the same until further notice.
We'll see if I can manage to eek through one week of this. I'll report next week.
Farewell!
